You have warmed our hearts by your desire to share Healing Silks with others. Like us, you see their beauty and feel their healing properties. As you reflected upon those feelings, you may have thought, “Can selling Healing Silks bring abundance into my life?” Those of us at Healing Silks have asked the same question of ourselves and, believe me, the answer is a resounding “Yes!”
We want our relationship to be a true win-win for all of us. Several things happen when you are successful:
$ People who might not otherwise hear about Healing Silks do so through you
$ Healing Silks products, by their very nature, brings balance to more people, thus spreading healing throughout the world.
$ The more we can assist you achieving abundance by spreading the word about Healing Silks, the more abundant we are.
Our mission to you, our affiliate, is to provide tools and instruction to assist you in achieving your goal of financial abundance. This document contains one of the tools available. Be sure and read all documents in our affiliate section.
Making money as a wholesaler or distributor of Healing Silks requires a great personal outlay of funds to be successful. Being a successful affiliate, where you simply refer someone to the Healing Silks WEB site through your own personal affiliate link, takes minimal outlay of financial resources. You do, however, need to spend your time “currency.”
Many people have wanted to be one of our affiliates, but thought they needed a WEB site to be successful. Some are, also, “put off” by the very long affiliate link. How do you get that long link on a business card or convince someone to put that in their WEB browser?
Great news! You do not need a WEB site! You can have a short memorable URL you choose directing people to the Healing Silks WEB site and your affiliate link. This happens by forwarding your memorable URL to your affiliate link which then goes to the Healing Silks WEB site. It really is no big deal. It’s not much different than forwarding a snail mail letter to another address.
When you set everything up as detailed in this document, your client will click on or enter your memorable WEB address into their browser, the message goes to the site that is “parking” the address, they automatically forward your client to the Healing Silks site and your affiliate link. You’ll earn a commission on anything that person buys as long as they order!
Your personal memorable URL plus some marketing strategies will set you on your way to selling Healing Silks without buying or storing any product … and without a WEB site unless you really want one.
How doe this happen? To summarize: You purchase your own URL for under $10.00 for a year. (I’ll show you how to do for under $8.00). Once you have your URL, you will then place an order to have the URL forwarded to your affiliate link. (Don’t worry, I’ll show you exactly how to do this.) Your personalized URL will forward your customer to the Healing Silks sales page of your choice with your personal affiliate link. From that point on, any time that customer buys a Healing Silk, you get credit … even years later!
I first bought one URL, CathysHealingSilks.com . If you put my URL in your WEB browser it would take you the Healing Silks “Store” page. (Notice I didn’t make it easy for you to click on and go to my WEB page. I didn’t think you’d want to be my affiliate. You can if you want!) I bought the domain name CathysHealingSilks.com and had placed a forwarding order to the “Store” section of www.HealingSilks.com . (Notice how I put a space between the URL and the period. You’ll want to do this also when you place your URL in any written material. Always have a space before and after your URL.) You can choose to have your WEB address forwarded to any page on the Healing Silks WEB site.
Right now I have the one WEB address going to Healing Silks. I’ve since decided to do a more comprehensive marketing campaign and bought CathysAffirmationBookmarks.com . I decided to do a comprehensive marketing campaign highlighting different products. I will buy memorable URLs that will focus on one part of the Healing Silks site. You can only forward one WEB address to one other link at a time. When you change the forwarding address you change the landing page for your link. That’s why you may need more than one WEB address.
If you wanted to market Healing Silks as a whole and send people to the home page, you would only need one WEB address. However, Healing Silks has several types of products, and more are coming. You might want to focus on just one of these products:
$ Sacred Healing Wraps
$ Gratitude Scarves (large and small)
$ Altar Cloths
$ Prayer Shawls
$ Intentionizers
$ Affirmation Bookmarks
You could then focus on various aspects of one line of products.
$ Gratitude Scarves as head coverings for religious reasons
$ Gratitude Scarves as head coverings for people undergoing cancer treatment
$ Gratitude Scarves as art or banners hanging on a wall
$ Sacred Healing Wraps as art or banners on walls
$ Gifts to family or clients (those could be two different campaigns)
For more focused campaigns I could buy the following domain names: CathysGratitudeScarves, CathysIntentionizers, CathysAltarCloths, CathysHeadCoverings, etc. (And if there is a “Cathy” reading this and I haven’t already bought those domains, and you get them first, I’ll just come up with another name.)
How To Get Your Very Own URL for Your Affiliate Link
1. Come up with a few names for your site. Decide which one you want the most. I used CathysHealingSilks. What name appeals to you? The name does not have to have the words “Healing Silks” in it. It can be any name meaningful to you. Be sure it is easy to remember and relates to your product. Create two or three different names in case the one you want is taken.
2. If you are reading this on your computer, click on the following link: http://www.cathysdomains.com and your domain will be $7.49 rather than $9.99.
3. There are two places you can begin searching to see if the domain name you choose is available. The most obvious is in the middle of the page, just right of center. The second is at the top of the page on the right.
4. Put in the name you want. For instance, I want “CathysGratitudeScarves.com.” I put CathysGratitudeScarves in the space. Do Not put .com. It’s already there. (By the way, it’s not case sensitive.)
5. Click Go. You will either get a big green checkmark with a Congratulations, or a red X. If you get the Congratulations, you are good to go. If you get an “X,” try another name.
6. Notice that .com is already selected. You don’t need any of the other extensions. It won’t matter if someone takes the same domain name with a different extension. Only your domain name will be forwarded to your affiliate link. Keep it simple and conserve your financial resources for other marketing strategies discussed later.
However, if you plan on developing a full blown WEB site with the selected name, you may want other domain extensions.
Oh, and your savings will show up at check-out, so don’t worry about the price.
7. Scroll down past all the other sales invitations. You will see on your right “Proceed to Checkout.” Click that link.
8. You now go to the page where you will register your account. Put in the information required. You may pay by credit card, check or PayPal.
9. You have an option of how many years to register that domain for your use. You could sign up for 1, 2, 3, 5 or 10 years. Again we suggest that you keep it simple and conserve your financial resources for other marketing strategies discussed later. Click on the “drop down” box to select the number of years you would like. If you just want to try this for a year, as long as your email address is correct, you’ll receive a renewal notice. They make more money keeping you as a customer.
10. You’ll then be taken to where you put in all your contact information and payment information.
11. Once you’re finished, log into your new account.
12. See the green navigation bar? If you are color challenged, look at the 3rd line from the top. Click on “Domains” . From the drop-down list, click on “My Domains”.
13. Now click on the relevant domain. If you only have one, there is only that domain listed.
14. Next, in the second column you will see “Forwarding.” It is the 2nd black listing. Note that is says below it in blue, “Domain is not forwarded.”Click on “Domain is not forwarded.”
15. The page will move downward.
16. Check “Enable Forwarding”.
17. Where it says “Forward to:” copy and paste the affiliate URL your received in your acceptance email from Healing Silks, you will want to use in that box. I put my forward URL that will direct to the store, you could also use the email that directs to the home page of http://www.healingsilks.com
For those who don’t know how to copy and paste the URL, go to the email in which you were given your affiliate links. There are three links. One is to the home page, another to the store and a third which says “embedded URL.” Use either the one for the store or the one for the home page. (There will be another article on how to use the “embedded URL.”)
Put your cursor under one of the links. (My curser turns into a little hand pointing to the link.) Right click on your mouse. Look down the list until you see “Copy Shortcut.” Click on that link.
Next, go back to the GoDaddy site and click on the “Forward to.” Right click your mouse and choose “Paste.”
18. Click ”move permanently.” You can always change it later if you choose.
19. Then click “OK.”
20. To be sure everything is set, go to your browser and put in your new URL. The WEB site that shows up should be the Healing Silks page you want your customer to land on. Give GoDaddy about 10 minutes before you try this.
You are now Ready to Market
Your new URL will now forward directly to the page you choose with your affiliate link. You will receive credit for all your sales and have the personal satisfaction of hearing how much people enjoy the Healing Silks.
What you can do with your new URL:
$ Business cards with your new URL. Your customer simply types in your new URL. The affiliate URL will appear on the Healing Silks WEB page so you get full credit.
$ Send out emails telling people about your new business. Include your “clickable” URL.
$ Hint: Be sure there are spaces between the URL and any punctuation. For instance you want “Click here to see my beautiful Healing Silks: http://www.CathysHealingSilks.com .” Notice the space between the URL and the period. If you are using quote marks “” to surround your URL, you want a space between the quote marks and the URL. The same goes for commas and any other punctuation marks.
$ Send out snail mail letters telling people about your new business with your personal URL.
$ If you have your own WEB site, you can place a page on your site describing the silks and then have your customers click on the URL taking them directly to the Healing Silks site with your affiliate URL.
$ Then, of course, you can develop your WEB page with your new URL if you want. GoDaddy has a full range of services if you would like to use them.
